Unable to update or install apps from Windows Store

    Hi!

After the latest Windows 10 update (ver 17134.165), I noticed that I am unable to update or install app from store. The error code is 0x80070002. According to what I've already searched on Google, I've tried to:

    1. Run WSReset.exe
    2. Change my Microsoft account to local account (some people say it worked for them). Not for me.

In the past I already had a problem with the Store (inability to update apps, but different error code). That time the culprit was Windows Defender Firewall disabled in services. This time it is activated and set to Automatic. Windows Defender is disabled, as always (I have Comodo and avast). Windows 10 Home x64.

Please, does someone have some advice to resolve this problem?

This is a known problem, I and many others also have it, there are a few threads already.

Supposedly MS are working on a fix - but don't hold your breath!

Is the next major Windows 10 update (Redstone 5) supposed to fix the problem? I had it in the past, and can't remember how it got fixed... Now I have it again, but please note that "not be able to update or install apps from Store" has affected users for a plethora of reasons... this time for me is something related to error code 0x80070002, for which I can't find a solution.

Sorry for double posting, but I just found something (maybe) interesting.

I am sure everything was OK since July 10 update. I just found out that the BITS service (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) is set to manual, so it doesn't start automatically. If I change the status of the service to Automatic, or Delayed Start, it reverts to Manual after a reboot. Is this normal? And could this be related to Windows Store, as I suppose?

I believe it is something to do with access to folder(s) being restricted, but don't quote me on it!
