    Win10 1803 / Windows Movie Maker

This is just a huge Huge HUGE THANK YOU to the Brains Trust that is this forum.

My thanks go out in particular to @davidhk, who in this thread [ Windows Movie Maker video problems.... - Page 4 - Windows 10 Forums ], wondered if he too could share a link from his OneDrive and it was his link that gave me access to WMM- another user had compressed it as a .rar, and well the WinZip trial period had expired
withThe other thing to note is that the Wayback location has been removed or deleted. Thanks again
    RoXoxo
PS: I've not tried to use it yet, but apart from needing to DL a .NET MS file, all proceeded without failure.

That was me (link still live). I do that because many security software won't let you download exe directly. Here's an article on unzipping rar files (and almost every other kind of zip file) for free - https://www.howtogeek.com/73904/beginner-how-to-extract-.rar-files-on-windows-7-and-mac-os-x/

Yes, that seems to be the case. It's still in the Wayback Machine under 'Software' though....

Oh, thank you so so much! Once I couldn't open it, I gave up! I really did believe that the world of WMM had broken. @mrgeek, your high-level geekdom-standing remains in excellent condition, xx

I'm glad I helped you, but I'm afraid I'm not the same gender (sorry @Rox). it was long after I'd chosen my nickname that I realised it could have other interpretations
Bree, my adopted nickname is short for Breelander - a man of Bree (I'm a Tolkien fan). Despite its other meanings, I'm actually male. (sorry about any confusion.)

Well then, that just goes to prove @Bree how ungeek I am; or should I say less than 'other worldly'. I had to Google Tolkien and then Breelander [please don't hurt me]. I now understand that not only are you male, but that 'a man of Bree' does not mean his mother's name is Bree, but that he resides in Breeland.

I am well into psychological, maniacal thrillers, and my favourite author is Jonathan Kellerman, with a couple more authors I occasionally add to the stack of 'faves'. When all is said and done, we at least have Windows 10 in common *laughing*.
