Do you need ccleaner or 3rd party cleaner for windows 10?

So today i just removed some software including my anti virus to get more space on disk and memory. I am afraid there is left over data from the software that i removed. So do i need to use 3rd cleaner such as CCleaner for it?

Each AV's site usually offers a cleanup tool and manual uninstallation instructions.
    E.g. searching for
    Avast manual uninstall
may work, or browse the site (obviously for your particular AV).

Ccleaner will be of no particular help and is not designed to help in this situation- 3rd party tools are not recommended to 'help' in uninstalling AV programs.

There should be no harm in running it, but normally such tools are only necessary if there's a particular problem - e.g. trying to install a different AV => a message saying you already have an AV program installed.

(Note- thinking about Ccleaner which optionally includes registry cleaning- note we don't advocate the use of registry cleaning tools. But Ccleaner's default functions are commonly used and should not be problematic).

I use CCleaner, but would never dream of using its registry cleaning. The only reason I use it is to clean temporary files for 3rd party browsers.

Microsoft's Disk Clean up only deletes temporary internet files for the MS browsers, Edge and IE. CCleaner removes them for all browsers.

CCleaner is also useful for selectively deleting cookies, you can whitelist the ones you need to keep (like the TenForums login cookie). Then you can delete all unwanted cookies across all browsers in one hit. Far more convenient than opening each browser in turn and selectively deleting cookies.

In fact, in Edge or IE you only have the choice to delete all or none of the cookies. With CCleaner you can selectively clean them too.

I've been using the registry cleaning for many years, longer than I'd like to admit. It's very useful, in terms of troubleshooting, in certain cases. Most recently, I had issues with AMD drivers failing to install on a multi-monitor workstation. CCleaner was able to clean some entries out of the registry and the driver upgrade installed properly. It works great and is relatively safe. If you have concerns, you can easily roll back and changes.

Another question. Why do you need to cleaning the registry ?

Excellent question. Why risk the possible consequences, when there are no apparent benefits.

I use Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove my programs & it automatically cleans up all leftovers.
I recently removed Norton (to move to Defender) & used their removal tool but for quite a number of leftovers by searching with Revo.
There’s a free version too but doesn’t give the option to search for leftovers of already uninstalled programs.
I use CCleaner & HDClean too.
