Being prompted to get the News App when I launch the weather App?

Just launched the weather app and got this.


Do we now get adds here too? To be honest, it may be a side effect or using Power Shell to uninstall the News App, Not Shure?

I just noticed that one today as well.

I got the same thing opening my weather app too. I guess it is time to find me a 3rd party app.

Thanks' guys. Wasn't sure if it was just me or not. I have a shortcut to Environment Canada so I'll switch to that. Microsoft was pushing Apps, it seems they are pushing people away from them with this type of tactic though. It's one App I'll never use again.

I am going to keep using it until I see it again. If it was just a one time thing after the update, I can live with it. If it pops up again, good bye to it.

I've only seen it the once so far. I have a feeling there are more to come though. The Environment Canada site works for me so no big deal really. Also just realized, it was my laptop I had uninstalled the News App on,, not this PC. So that had nothing to do with it.

That's very disheartening to hear. I ditched the Solitaire Collection Store App over this type of thing. What the are they thinking?

Showed up on my XBOX yesterday when I launched the weather app on it. Its a bit of a PITA to close the add too. No mouse and no cursor. Had to play with the game controller a bit to get the X highlighted and click it.
