W10 constantly changing file associations on two different computers.

Hey all, for some reason, on Windows 10 Pro, I'm always getting file association/open with popups when I open the same files I must have associated dozens of times before.

Has anyone else had this problem? Like for instance, I open all of my JPG files with the classic photo viewer (like from W7,) and I have associated it dozens of times as I've said before, but it asks me again and again which program I want to open them with.

Hi, how are you creating the association?

Note you cannot set a program's association from within the program. Please see:
Choose Default Apps in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
and confirm you are using one of the methods.

To explore your associations you may like to try this free program:

Try configuring an association, then checking with the above program.

Ideally post screenshots of one program that you are having difficulty with being associated with an extension.

Note that it is normal for there to be a prompt to ask which program you'd like a previously associated extension to be opened with when you install a new program registered to handle that extension.
