My desktop is an Xbox ?

Why did I get this update last month?

Does Microsoft think that this desktop PC is an Xbox?

    Disable W10 installing suggested apps

You can use Geek Uninstaller to remove all apps you don't want. (VIEW -> Windows Store Apps)

    That doesn't answer the question.
Why would Microsoft install Xbox software on Windows?

The XBOX App lets you play your XBOX games on your PC. I do it every now and then. It's like remote desktoping into your XBOX. I do believe you can just uninstall it if you don't use it. There are also some games you can play natively on your PC and or XBOX, and only have to buy the game once on one or the other platform. That update may have something to do with that option?

I think Windows Installer should ask if we ACTUALLY have got an XBOX console. In my case, I am a PC gamer. I do not have any console.

PS - In fact, w10 installer should have the option to opt out from installing a lot of crap/bloatware that gets forcibly installed.

I totally agree. It's getting really old uninstalling Candy Crush etc twice every year. And having your default apps and programs set back to "what they think you should be using."

Just FYI, the XBOX does a lot more than just game. I can browse the internet, even post here from it. Or watch YouTube, check the weather etc. Play my music. It still has a long way to go to compete with my PC though.

    Hi there.

when it can run Stock Market trading systems and a full office suite then an XBOX could be considered a PC -- until then I don't want or need XBOX stuff on my Windows PC's.

For multi-media and internet surfing any compatible device can / and is used -- you wouldn't though call these devices PC's though !!!

People might want to play XBOX games etc on their PC's --OK that;s fine -- but I agree with previous poster who said the installer should ask first. !!!

There's enough Bloat in Windows already -- we don't need even more.

    Cheers
