    Hi there.

when it can run Stock Market trading systems and a full office suite then an XBOX could be considered a PC -- until then I don't want or need XBOX stuff on my Windows PC's.

For multi-media and internet surfing any compatible device can / and is used -- you wouldn't though call these devices PC's though !!!

People might want to play XBOX games etc on their PC's --OK that;s fine -- but I agree with previous poster who said the installer should ask first. !!!

There's enough Bloat in Windows already -- we don't need even more.

    Cheers

I never said it was a PC, I said just the opposite actually. My point is that it is more than just a gaming console.
I do agree that Windows shouldn't just assume everybody has one or wants one. All this screw you, we're doing it anyway whether you like it or not stuff, is one of the big reasons I didn't reapply for my MVP this time around.

I think Windows Installer should ask if we ACTUALLY have got an XBOX console. In my case, I am a PC gamer. I do not have any console.
Xbox app is not only for users with an Xbox console. It is also used when you play any Microsoft games. I've never had a gaming console, yet I have XBox app and account for those occasions I'd like to play Microsoft Solitaire or Mahjong or whatnot.

    Hi there

    @Kari
You can use Winaero;s update to get the old W7 games working fine on W10 -- no need for an XBOX account if those games are all you need.

I think we all agree though the installer should either ask you or check what you are running before willy nilly installing XBOX stuff on to your PC -- especially if you use your PC for work.

I have that installed. Microsoft likes to kill it on every feature update and make you reinstall them. I did play the Microsoft Solitaire Collection games for a while, then they started feeding adds in and I promptly uninstalled them.

What makes me chuckle a bit is Candy Crush etc is even installed on the Enterprise version.

I am by no mean saying XBOX is bad but I still feel, suggested apps installation should be optional.

Sorry but I do not buy the "one size fits all" w10 scenario.

I seems that I don't need any of this Xbox stuff and I can freely delete it.
    Thanks.

It's easy enough to reinstall anyway, if you find you need it. Be thankful you can actually uninstall them. There are so many useless Apps that they force you into using power shell to remove them.
