.NET Framework Initialization Error - Please Set Registry Key

    Hello,

I have a program called NeuroProgrammer. I believe the following error could have started after a recent Windows update, but I'm not sure.

When I try to open the program, I get the following error:

Please set registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\installroot to point to the .net framework install location

I tried reinstalling the program to no avail.

How can I get this program working again?

    Thanks!

    Jeff

i had tried several tools to deinstall all .net versions & reinstall
today to be honest - a couple of weeks have passed - i just did a quick search.
i decided to register on your great looking homepage tenforums.com & give it a try too!
IN SHORT: i have the same error with precicely the same software, that jeff is writing about.
the company had not answered my support request for many weeks, but the software still works beautifully fine on windows 7 and is officially also supported on windows 10.

my system: windows 10 pro as well :-) !

bye the way i have windows 10 pro as well. i accidentially had written windows 10 on the side, i think.
any suggestions would be great. just installing the software fresh as a windows 7 didnt solve the challange neither. and i am pretty sure, more programs, then just this one software are affected bis this .NET error.
THANK YOU all you gurus, that can give a tipp.

I hope you are having nice summer weather and spirit, Christian from Prague

    Windows 10 64-bit AT/AT COMPATIBLE

I too have the program NeuroProgrammer. I also have another program from the Transparent Corporation called Mind Stereo. I have been running into the same error message upon trying to install Mind Stereo on my Windows 10 64-bit laptop. I have successfully installed Mind Stereo on my Windows 10 desktop computer. Thinking I might find some discrepancy in the registry settings, I looked at the settings on my desktop computer and found them to be identical with the laptop registry settings. On the laptop, I have kept up with the latest Windows updates, Windows 10 Home, 1803, 5/20/2018 OS build 17134.165. I have not been successful in installing these updates on my desktop. Should I try rolling back the Windows updates on my laptop and then try reinstalling Mind Stereo?
