Thanks Bree for the update. Lets see how the rest of members respond in this thread. Looking better than it did.

I tried that a week ago. Ran devicecensus manually and it was successful. Next day it failed.

Hoping update from yesterday is a more permanent fix. Maybe a combo of both.
Looks like its fixed with KB3434909. Went on yesterday. I would always see it after boot up in the morning. Nothing there this AM, nor yesterday after the update requested a re-boot. Looks like they finally fixed something.

Gonna do the updates today. Will report back tomorrow if it's resolved for me as well.

Me too. I had some heavy video processing to do yesterday, so left my machine running while I slept.
System has been running for about 36 hours now with no devicecensus errors, so it seems well and truly fixed

    I believe it's KB4343909, not KB3434909.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply, I changed my feedback to basic and changed ask for feedback = never.
    This has stopped errors.
If Microsoft want to spy by default, they may want to try and get it working first!
    Thanks again.
I've done that also but every time the computer starts, ESET warns me that devicecensus.exe wants access to my webcam. I tried deleting it but can't. TrustedInstaller won't allow it.

You could tell Eset to ignore. I think with all the hype around people having their webcam used without their knowledge ESET says if anything accesses alert.

Knowing if you have a webcam and reporting back to MS is the least of anyone's worries, who doesn't have a webcam.

You should also be able to create an exclusion to not allow it. It shouldn't ask then.
