    microsoft program on cd copy to thumb drive


    Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but here goes.

    I have the original microsoft money program on cd. which is copyright protectd. It was loaded onto this laptop 6 years ago when the operating system was windows 7 I believe. I have since upgraded to windows 10. I am changing my laptop which does not have a cd drive. I wish to continue using the program and would like to know the best options to copy the cd to a thumb drive. Alternatively I have seen various upgrade programs on the net and would like to know if they would be an alternative?

    Perhaps there is some guidance in the MS Money forum or in some of the other TenForums threads about this application.
    - I did not know that MS copyright-protected any of its installation disks.
    - One particular TenForums thread includes what appear to be useful download links for some versions of MS Money.
    - If you cannot find another solution then you could consider buying an external CD/DVD drive.

Can you copy program files over to an external hard drive? And copy them back onto your hard drive after installing Windows 10 pro? Or do you have to install all the programs again? If so is there any software that would do it for you?
That's the only way I can get it to my hard drive in my car audio system..
