Have not been able to use Cortana as intended. I believe it's a Realtek driver issue concerning their mics.

you should have english language pack and US as the region.
you can also add your own language too.
I haven't installed Windows 10 yet but I live in the Netherlands so my Windows 10 will presumably be in Dutch. Can't I have an English Cortana then?

when you are gonna install the Windows 10
set the region to US, set the language as English (en-us), set the time zone as Netherlands and then install it
after installing, come to desktop ,click on windows logo on the task bar and search for language and then add your own language.
    then Cortana should work.

Won't I have an English version of Windows 10 in that case? Or will I be able to change it into Dutch after the install? Won't Cortana disappear if I change the region and language afterwards?

if you changed the region then Cortana will be disabled. as far as I know, it's only available for US/UK and China and few other countries and Netherlands isn't one of them.

Ok, so I'd have to change the region to US but I can still have a Dutch version of Windows 10 which I'd have to add after the install, correct?

Upgraded 1 of my 2 systems on Wednesday. Don't use it and have no intention of using it. I am not about to agree to all the info sharing/gathering, plus, I think I am much more productive on my own.

Also, It is a big RAM HOG!
    Eh, about 28MB !!

in windows 10, you can set the region, time zone, keyboard language pack, display language pack and make it default
if you want to activate cortana the region and display language pack should be in english but you can still add dutch as the keyboard language pack but don't make your language as default and you can change the time zone as whatever you want.
