QUESTION: MS Word 2013 - Possible to run PORTABLE + SANDBOXED?

    Howdy, Members:

    1. It it possible to install MS Word 2013 only... (without other MS Office apps) to my new notebook as portable and sandboxed?

    2. Is there an online Word editor that can competently accomplish this task without the necessity to install Word 2013 at all to local HDD?

    NOTES

    • I have existing .DOCX files that have REVISIONS in right column that must also be retained... which is my only interest in using Word 2013.

    • It appears that LibreOffice or other alternatives do not handle MS Word revisions well... plus I need to retain the .DOCX format.

What would be your best recommendations?

Word can be installed on its own if you deselect everything else it will run as a portable if you can find it. Google docs will do anything all on line and free. Check the app store you can get word and others on there

    Thank you.
It is my experience that Google Docs can not view MS Word 2013 comments.

No idea, but LibreOffice Portable can handle comments and the Word .docx format....

    Hello, Bree:

I opened my .DOCX file in LibreOffice Portable... however I could not find how to view the .docx COMMENTS.

I have LibreOffice 4.3. On the View menu I can tick the 'Comments' item. There's also a 'Comments' button to the right of the top ruler.

That I'm not sure about - I don't work with comments, I had to create my simple example from scratch.

There is comprehensive online help that may answer your questions...

PS: regarding the 'please ignore...' posts above. If you edit any of your posts, there's a 'Delete post' option above the editor. You can also 'manage attachments' below the editor to remove an unwanted attachment.

    Brilliant!

The HELP FILE does not address this specific question... however after reviewing your post image again... I reopened LO again... and this time it worked beautifully... I have no idea why! LOL!
