Neither one of those help or what is in them have been done before.
The registry entries reference in the Tech Journey link to be deleted have apparently been deleted as they are not there.

The rmdir (rd) did not work

The registry entry to remove the desktop icon is already set to "1"

Then I suggest you search the registry and cautiously delete onedrive entries.

O&O produce a free registry editor with a good search feature.

I found the registry entry to remove it from the list in File Explorer. Good Idea to manually search the Registry. I haven't removed all the entries. I deleted the first three entries and now its gone.

Rebooted and still OK. I'll mark this solved and thanks to all that helped. No one thing completely removed it. It was a combination of things and the final manual Registry deletions. (I have a Macrium Reflect full disc image in case a problem does arise. I have one image that I did right after the 1803 upgrade which would be before anything was attempted.

Great.. perhaps you could post the particular entry? I found a number.. and have onedrive present in a similar way, but no program installed. That said, I've not tried to eliminate it.

I'm not sure which one did It and don't remember the entries - reason I didn't post it.
