1803 Cortana not working after removing Windows.old: White Screen

We get a white screen when searching Windows and no special tweak have been made there, not even web search. It was working before removing Windows.old. We have the same issue in Admin or Guess account.

Anyone with the same issue? Is there a way to get Miss Cortana back to work?

It works fine on both my pc's running Windows 10 1803.
My only complaint is that I miss everything Cortana used to show us when we clicked on it in the taskbar.
Now, other than searches to me it's worthless.
I miss seeing tracked packages. sports scores. local news, etc. just by scrolling.
Now you have to take extra steps which makes no sense to do the same thing, except takes longer to do it.

    Not Stable

Cortana is ok in admin account after some adjustments, but not in guess session. The machine doesn't boot properly, freezes and not responding to basic tasks. We will go backward now.

Have you tried those same settings for the Guest or Standard account ?
    If no, try that.
I do keep up on all the various reliable site's that cover Windows and it appears that more Windows 10 1803 bugs are appearing by the day.
Microsoft dumbly released it with a known Google Chrome & Cortana bug.
They supposedly fixed that on May 8th.
Who's to say that patch isn't yet, another buggy Microsoft patch.
Over the last few years they seem to have have risen in the buggy patch department.
I'm at the point, to where I'm thinking they laid off the wrong employees and kept the wrong employees during all their cutback's.
Nadella's kind of looking/sounding like he's come down with a serious case of Ballmerism over the past year or so.
It's getting worse, too, if you paid attention to build.
What do you call Microsoft 365?
Windows & Office on a yearly subscription.
Waiting for pricing info. on that one.
Probably somewhere like $200.00 per year.
I'm truly thinking of switching to Linux this coming fall when I upgrade my CPU and motherboard.
Just since I built this pc in July, 2016, I've had to do 60+ clean installs of Windows 10, due to buggy Windows 10 updates.
After so many clean installs on new hardware in that time period, you really get sick of it.

completely agree with those comments. That was all I found Cortana useful for. Baffles me why they removed the interests

FYI: Do you have this update?

    Microsoft Update Catalog

Addresses an issue that may cause some devices to stop responding or working when using applications, such as Cortana or Chrome, after installing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update.
