Start menu items...

When I started up, then rechecked the standard News and weather apps. were not working in the START menu. They were working fine yesterday.

Have you turned off the live tiles?

Never touched live tiles. Everything else works fine onlyy the weather and news tiles affected.

Right click either one of them and check to see if they are on or off. Then toggle off and back on and recheck.

Both are on. They worked yesterday fine, never changed.

Have you rebooted?

Rebboted and also rechecked for malware and spyware.

You could try uninstalling the apps that are not working and then redownload and install them from MS Store.
