Windows Store will not install apps.

    Hello all!
This is a problem that I cannot solve on my own. Google was not of much help either.
I can get to an app download page, but the moment I click install the window vanishes and reappears instantly.
I made a screen recording of this happening so that everyone is on the same page.
Oh, and here are the codes that I got from google searches.
    Code:
    Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    Code:
    WSReset.exe
    And finally... the video.

Thank you all for your time. :)

I have a fix for you

    1. Hit the Windows key and type "WSReset" without the quotes
    2. Right click the green "App"/Command and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
    3. A command prompt "looking" window will appear, DO NOT DO ANYTHING, just wait until it disappears (30 or so seconds)
    4. The Windows Store will then launch and you are good to go.

By the way your video did not load

    Thanks for the quick response.
I am not sure why the video will not load for you, because it loads just fine on my end.

Did the above. It did not fix the problem.

Strange. I had your exact issue and was able to solve it via the aforementioned.

Maybe try to open Apps and Features via settings, find the Microsoft store app, click it. At the bottom of the banner you will see advanced options. Click this, scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will find a button "Reset". Click this and let it do its thing.

After this try installing a windows store app again. If you still have issues after this, go through the steps I mentioned in my first response. Make sure you open the command prompt by right-clicking it and run as administrator. Then type cd\ and enter. Once you see your root drive run the command WSReset.

    Restart your computer.

If problems still persist hit the windows key and type troubleshoot. Click Troubleshoot (System settings), scroll all the way down to the bottom and click Windows Store Apps. Let this run, restart computer and let me know what happens.

    Best of luck.

    This has to work..

Your not going to believe this, even with video proof. I did all of that, and it did not work.
I have uploaded a video of the entire process for you to see. If it does not play for you, let me know and I will send it as a zip file.

    That is insane.
Have you tried reinstalling it? You can do that.

Question: Did you happen to move the install location for WS Apps?

Attempting to reinstall it was the first thing that I did.
I do not remember moving the install location. Still, I can check. What should the default be, and how do I find out what the location is set to?
(I am still very new to windows 10 if you could not tell...)

Ah, if you don't have another hard drive in your computer you have likely not changed the install location because to do so you would need a great deal of knowledge of Win10.

At any rate here are the instructions (Credit to Shawn Brink)
Change Save Location for New Apps in Windows 10

    1. Open the Settings app, and click/tap on the System icon.

    2. Click/tap on Storage on the left side, and click/tap on the Change where new content is saved link under More storage settings on the right side.

    3. Select the drive you want New apps will save to.

The default location is This PC for the Windows C: drive in the %ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps (apps) and %LocalAppData%\Packages (user app data) folders.

If the storage locations are empty, then check to make sure that the Storage Service service is enabled and set to Start (running) and manual.

    4. Click/tap on the Apply button to apply.

    5. When finished, you can close Settings if you like.

Buddy, I doubt my last post will fix you, still worth trying.

So, your last option is to plug in your install disk and try doing a repair or just do a fresh install. I this twice a year to keep my PC healthy.

let me know how things work out.

Question: Are you the administrator of your machine?

    Thanks for the answer.
Ok, yeah I have not changed that. The only thing that I changed was the location of user folders so that I could have things auto saved to my storage drive. I did not touch anything to do with system or program folders.

What the heck is going on? How can the windows store be screwed up that badly? I am not going to reinstall JUST to get the store working.

Here is a question, is there any other way to download and install store apps that does not involve the windows store app itself?
