Skype Rejects multiple phone numbers
Do not have a mobile phone. I set up a number with Google Hangouts. It's not accepting it in my Skype. I entered the mobile phone number of my nursing home and it wasn't accepted. I entered the mobile phone number of my wife. Again it was not accepted.

I have no assets, no bank accounts, no credit cards. I'm on Medicaid and none of these things are permitted. I'm severely disabled with poor eyesight. My computer screwed up the keyboard when I tried the restart. By the time I figured it out I had used up all my login trials. I've been trying to do a restore and keep on running into bizarre obstructions. Currently, it seems that Microsoft wants me to be an active skype user. I have no interests in using skype for phone. The restore process requires both a Skype name and a phone number. It doesn't accept my phone number and also does not accept my Skype name. In spite of being an octogenarian and my physical difficulties i'm still doing research and publishing. Unfortunately, all of my work is on the machine i'm trying to restore.

Sorry to hear about your medical issues.
You can stop the sign in process of the skype app by signing out. If you use a MS account to sign into your computer, that is what it uses to automatically sing you into the Skype app. Just click on your name or initials at top left of skype app, then scroll to bottom and click sign out. That's it, you wont be bother by it again.

Thank you for your assistance. I finally resolved the problem by Googling Microsoft support. Under the virtual agent I used chat. I was guided through a process so that I could log into my machine.
