After updating to v1803 these two errors of Windows.MiracastView

    Hello,
after updating to v1803 these two errors occur:

    AppReadiness ID 10:
Operation Appx 'RemovePackageAsync' in 'Windows.MiracastView_6.3.0.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy' failed for user 'user@hotmail.it' - Unable to perform the deployment operation Remove with target volume C: for the Windows.MiracastView_6.3.0.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy package. Error: 0x80070490. See Troubleshooting packaging, deployment, and query of Windows Store apps (Windows) and

    AppReadiness ID 214:
'Windows.MiracastView_cw5n1h2txyewy' uninstall failed for user. Error: 'Removal failed. Contact the software manufacturer. ' (5.786127 seconds)

    Sfc and Dism is Ok!

I checked the path of the two files as it says here:

Unable to Sysprep after Fall Creator Update Due To Miracast
    forum = win10itprosetup

and are present in the corresponding directories

    C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Packages\Windows.MiracastView_cw5n1h2txyewy and C:\Windows.old\Users\user\AppData\Local\Packages\Windows.MiracastView_cw5n1h2txyewy and

If you have got access to an old version of W10 (I used an old system backup from 1703) you can copy the old C:\Windows\MiracastView folder and paste it into your current C:\Windows directory. When you reboot this will allow the background AppReadiness process to delete the package files and you can check in the Event Viewer under the information section to verify that they were removed.

Then you can delete the C:\Windows\MiracastView folder you added.

Those error messages will then be gone!

This method is taken from Method 2 in the link here.

I had the same two errors about MiraCastView after updating to 1803, but I didn't have those folders. I did find what appears to be a leftover reg key and I was able to fix those two errors by opening regedit and navigating to the following key ...

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\EndOfLife\

Expand EndOfLife to see your SIDs (ex. S-1-5-21-xxx-xxx-x-1001) ... Expand each SID and see if the Windows.MiracastView_6.3.0.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy key exists. If it does, Export the MiraCastView* key (just for good measure) then Delete the MiraCastView* key.

    Hi @alpha45
The Microsoft method did not work for me.

What I did and solved the problem was to follow this procedure and after MiracastView was completely uninstalled I deleted the C:\Windows\MiracastView folder, which I had reinstalled using the Microsoft method (which you probably don't have if you did not try the Microsoft method).

To completely solve the problem you should also run the following two commands from an elevated command prompt:

    Code:
    REG DELETE "HKLM\SYSTEM\Setup\Upgrade\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\EndOfLife\S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-100X" /f
    REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\Deleted\EndOfLife\S-1-5-21- XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-100X" /f
Where S-1-5-21- XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-100X is your user SID, which can be found running from a command prompt the command
    Code:
    wmic useraccount get name, SID
That's it! MiracastView gone for good :)

And what happens to all the new control panel settings for Miracast if you remove it using this method?

Miracastview had been disabled by Microsoft, since the introduction of version 1709. So there shouldn't be any control panel settings. The method described just removes its leftovers!

Miracastview was a Microsoft app, which was helping to view your PC content to a TV (just a guess, as I don't know exactly what it was, since I had never used it), apparently based on the Miracast standard.
Miracast is a wireless display standard designed for mirroring a smartphone, tablet, or PC’s screen to a television without requiring connection via any physical HDMI cables.
The ability to use Miracast should be present in you PC. Not all PCs support Miracast.
In version 1709 Microsoft dropped the app, not the support to Miracast.
