Mad Prof again -- Multi twindow GUI on UBUNTU on WSL working

    Hi there

Multi tasking / windowing works but you have to run multi instances -- i.e just start the Ubuntu subsystem again -- two instances running. I haven't yet seen how to "multi Window" from the command etc.

I still can't get a desktop GUI yet -- but time for a decent Bev !!" will leave that for another day

Don't forget to connect the Xserver in each window to access a GUI application -- 0:0 is fine on both.

Here's two applications running -- Dolphin again (connected to my Linux NAS showing files) and running Spider solitaire. The NAS files are formatted XFS so no probs either -- also reading from RAID0 config so I think Ms has got their manual wrong when it says only NTFS and the internal file system of the WSL subsystem can be read by the subsystem.

Think I've done enough for one day --time for a nice glass of Scotch !!!!

Install Kali Linux on WSL and follow this guide (GUIDE - Kali Linux in the Windows App Store) to at least test Desktop usability under WSL.

They use XRDP service and remote into Kali using Windows RDP to get visuals for XFCE4. It might not be exactly what you want, but it's a step in the right direction.
