    Something I just found out about, because Josey was taking about Magician.

    Samsung NVMe drivers didn't carry over.
    I opened my Magician(I have it set not to load at boot), and it showed that Windows is using the standard NVMe driver for both of my M.2's:

    @Cliff S

    How big of a difference does the Samsung NVMe drivers have on performance or other factors?

    To a human?
    In normal day to day use(no huge file transfers from one Samsung M.2 to another?

    None, but I use the correct tool for the correct job

    Intel IRST drivers do the job too, actually.(I have tried and tested)

    Yes, it seems it's only good for keeping firmware up to date (which is good though).

    HAHAH! On my 750GB spinner, my MFT is 15.58GB and contains 16341503 records. It only contains 31415 files. THAT is a lot of records and space used. I guess it's because it's a compressed drive. :)

    That's weird. Carried over perfectly for me. Did an upgrade install.

    Benchmarking results are most impressive using Samsung's latest NVMe drivers.
    Real life performance is quite good too as I feel Samsung's SSDS perform better than most other brands anyhow except for Intel's latest Optane based drives which don't deliver such impressive benchmarks but have incredibly low latency and that's what's matters most in dayly use.

    I just used Samsung Magician to Optimize my drive and get the same results. Seems that I can do without this app.
    What about rapid mode???

    I do not see any difference with it removed.

    Wow! That's interesting. Mine shows quite a bit of difference. Well, all machines are different. If an app isn't giving you anything, there's no need to have it running. Btw, the one thing that really bothers me about Magician is that it can only optimize one drive. In this day and age, I would think a tech giant like Samsung would have gotten past that limitation. I have several Samsung ssd's in my system, and it would be nice to have all of them optimized by this software.

    It can optimize all SSD's but Rapid Mode will only work on the SSD with Windows 10 or your OS on it.
