Just wondering- if you uninstall a program whose possible associations are not complete, then reinstall it, are you still prompted to choose the association for those extensions when you subsequently double click them?

Hence, in turn, you would be able to associate pertinent extensions (you use) with that program. But how cumbersome.
I'll try that for some programs. I don't understand why the Set Defaults by Apps page doesn't list all programs in addition to apps. Most apps are listed but only VLC and ACDSee from my many installed programs. It's hard to see why MS can't sort out this basic functionality which used to work well.

The CP does work but selecting Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs just takes you to the useless Default Apps page in Settings and links therefrom.

What's left of it. Shrunk a bit over the years though (Display, Personalisation, help menu). What will be removed next?

From CP, only one link works, the other three do nothing...
