windows installer repeatedly tries to install an uninstalled program

When running certain programs which were running under windows7 on another computer and are now uninstalled are now attempting to reinstall with windows installer over and over again. It gets interrupted with an error message and then starts all over again. The program happens to be pinnacle 14 which I upgraded to pinnacle 18. I have exhausted my attempts to identify and fix the problem. I have seen a number of problems that are similar on the web but none of the suggesting are working. Any help would be appreciated.

Since no one has yet to respond, allow me to offer my limited suggestions :

    1. Check if you still have remnants of Pinnacle left in the system.............
a.) Go to This PC > open C drive (your main drive) > open Program Files if your OS is 32-bit, or Program Files(x86) if your OS is 64-bit > look for Pinnacle Studios. If found delete it.
b.) Right click at Start > Run > enter regedit > Ok > expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > look for Pinnacle Studios. If found, delete it.
    Do the same on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    2. Perhaps calling on Pinnacle Support is in order.

Spurious Windows Installer attempt to install an old uninstalled prog

I have deleted any thing related to the software programs that Windows Installer is attempting load I also deleted registry entries. Problems start when I execute some but not all programs. I am going to try reinstalling programs and then going through an uninstall. I that fails I will go back to a backup that predates the problem

    Manual Removal Guide for PU.PinnaclePCPerformance

Clearly this is an unpleasant program.

A standard approach if there are not sufficient remnants for an uninstaller such as Revo to be pointed to (Force Uninstall mode) would be to reinstall it, monitoring the install. Then uninstall it with the uninstall program.

(I habitually uinstall progs with Geek Uninstaller (free)- like Revo, it does a scan after uninstalling to find remnants).
