For me, 3.0 causes an application error to be recorded in the event viewer when VLC is shutdown. This occurs with both 32 and 64 bit portable versions.
If video is playing when shutting down, no error is recorded. Others on the VLC forum have reported this also.

I've been using beta for some time now and it's good. Jumping to major release number always required downloading and installing new version.

Yes !! I've noticed the same error in Reliability Monitor. I haven't tried shutting down VLC while video is playing.

I checked when I opened VLC, and there was no error showing. The second I shut it down by closing, the error appears.

Im glad I am not the only one !! This didn't happen with the previous version.

But other than the error on shutdown of VLC, the player functions without a hiccup ! BTW, I am usinf the 64 bit version.
