Installing Net Framework 3.5 in Windows 10 S

Has anybody successfully installed .NET 3.5 in Windows 10S.

The Windows update method fails miserably failing to download files.

Downloading the offline full package fails as it is a win32 and cannot be run in Windows 10S.

The offline install method using an installtion drive and running a DISM coomand is not possible as you cannot run command prompts or powershell commands.

I cannot see any way to do it if the standaed Windows Update fails. hi all

    Hi there

    @cereberus

seems to have no problem for me

Try turn windows features on or of from the old Control Panel application --> Programs and Features. Control panel is still available -- search for it in the main menu.

Guys, @cereberus is referring to Win 10S (aka Windows Cloud... the Store only edition)

When I developed ShowKeyPlusUWP it would only allow a minimum .Net 4.6 to compile... but then I'm no expert at this UWP stuff -- just saying...

Are there any Store apps that use .Net 3.5?

Edit: The feature as @jimbo45 noted is available

Then goes and looks for it on WU

    But nada...

That is exactly what I got. I wanted to install net 3.5 as it is required to run Hyper-V.

    I cannot see any solution.

OK.. lets go off topic quick...

One can sideload in Win 10S using Gpedit Windows 8 Sideloading Requirements (from TechNet) South Central District Client Team

But it won't run... maybe there is another setting that needs to be enabled, somehow... unless it specifically needs a store authentication flag?

I always thought it was installed as part of the OS?

EDIT: I stand corrected. It's not part of the OS.

You are missing the point - you cannot use DISM commands with win 10S.

    Hi @cereberus

Windows 10 S is a specific configuration of Windows 10 Pro that offers a familiar, productive Windows experience that’s streamlined for security and performance. By exclusively using apps in the Microsoft Store and ensuring that you browse safely with Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 S keeps you running fast and secure day in and day out.
I don't know much about Windows 10 S so forgive me if my suggestion wont work.

Can you create Windows 10 S Installation DVD if you can maybe Dism command is included within Windows Recovery Environment.

Maybe installing .Net Framework 3.5 is possible from Windows 10 Pro Recovery Environment.

What is the error? Details may help. If it is the same as this:

    https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...s-capture3.png

The suggested fix is to remove any higher versions of .NET Framework then try installing 3.5 again. If I personally went down that route I'd run advanced disk cleanup to include windows update cleanup before rebooting and attempting the install.
