WordPad setup for Compatibility Mode
On my Win10 computer I use WordPad a lot especially since many people I help don't have a word document on their computers but I like to record what I do and show them.
I have Microsoft Home and Student 2016 originally installed 2/11/17 that I purchased through the Microsoft Store.
Now for my Worpad issue, here is a screenshot of the ribbon.
I thought that was normal but please compare it to my brother's WordPad ribbon.

My brother just bought a new Windows 10 computer and also purchased Microsoft Home and Student 2016 this January 2018 at Staples. He had Staples set up his computer and his WordPad is in compatibility mode and the ribbon looks like the same ribbon his Word 2016 has.
His WordPad ribbon.
In summary: Differences and questions are
His Win10 computer is (Version 1703 (build 15063.850): mine is (Version 1709 (build 16299.192).
--- This is for information in case it's good to know.
His Microsoft Home and Student 2016 (16.0.8730.2175): mine is (16.0.8730.2127).
--- Do I need to upgrade to the version he has (16.0.8730.2175): if so how do I do that?
--- The install date for mine in Control Panel changes and today it's 1/16/2018: is it because of Windows Updates?
His Wordpad uses Compatibility Mode, mine doesn't.
--- How can I set up my Wordpad to use Compatibility Mode?
--- I'm the one who set up my Wordpad just a couple of months ago: I don't recall if I had an option to include compatibility mode but maybe I missed it.
His WordPad ribbon is full just like his Word 2016 is.
--- I'd like my WordPad ribbon to be just like his.
