I've used a program called Revo Uninstaller for a long time. I love it. When you delete a program, you have the option to do a deep scan in registry to find all items related to the particular program. It asks you to select the files you wish to delete. I usually check all and delete them. I know it's dangerous to fool around with the registry, but I've never had a problem. So Far.
I've Revo Uninstaller, but it is unable to detect AVAST & uninstall it. I am struck up with AVAST downloaded accidentally.

Ccleaner update is back to installing Avast without warning. Their is no option to select out of Avast.

The Avast removal tool does not remove everything. Revo does not remove everything. Running a search using regedit does remove everything but takes some time to do so.

I'll be thankful to learn about using regedit in this particular case.

OTOH, if you wait a week (7 days exactly) after each new CCleaner release comes out, there's a "Slim" version added to the CCleaner Builds page. It has no added software in it whatsoever. I always wait for this version to appear, and perhaps you should, too!

    Just FYI

The free Revo uninstaller does not, as you say remove everything, but if you are using the Paid for Pro version and you set it to monitor the install, (Traced Program mode) It creates a registry backup, saves the changes to the registry and it will remove all items in the file system and the registry if you perform an uninstall

Uncheck all Ccleaner options During Installation

You put yourself in trouble by not reading the installation procedure. You also disturb Defender activity. On top, Avast populates Windows architecture heavily.

Only a clean install would make me sleep OK.

    CCleaner - Professional

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
