    Program frozen

I downloaded a program on two different PCs (Riffworks). One works fine the other freezes. I recently had to install Windows 10 OS as it had some problems which I couldn't fix but they are still there. Like allowing Adminsistrator privilege which is a nightmare! I have downloaded the program several times but it still has the same problem. I ran Reimage. I ran Advanced System Care which checks the registry too. At am at my wits end with this nothing seems to work. I can't even close it down but have to use Task manager to do it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What are the OS's on each one of the computers?
--- Although it would be best to focus on solving the problems on the problematic computer I would say it would be a good idea on comparing their differences for baseline purposes.
On the computer that you installed Windows 10 and has problems, it would be a good idea to fix those problems first.
Do you run Advanced System Care on both of the computers?
--- Personally I'm not a fan of utility programs like Advanced System Care along with registry cleaners but others can chime in on that.

According to Sonoma Wire Works: RiffWorks Standard Guitar Recording Software in the compatibility section, Windows 10 isn't included.
The free version RiffWorksT4 doesn't support 32-bit recording and mix: only 16-bit and is temporarily unavailable.
The paid for RiffWorks Standard does include both 16-bit & 32-bit recording and mix.

Hi. Both PCs are loaded with the same OS from the same disc. I know it would be best to fix the problemsonb that specific PC but what are the problems? That's what I need to know. Yes ASC on both PCs but that was just to see if It could solve the issue which it didn't. ASC is a good program but obviously it didn't have the capabilities to sort it out ot iot was outside its parameters. Yes I know 10 isn't included in the list but as I said it does work on the other PC without a problem. I haven't got the free version but the full Riffworks version. It worked OK before I reloaded the OS. As I said I ran Reimage and it didn't find anything amiss either. The program locks up, wont run and I can't even close it excepot by using task manager. I hope that helps. Cheers.

The information you provided is helpful.

You have the full RiffWorks version on each of your 2 computers.
Even though the RiffWorks website doesn't include Windows 10 in its compatibility section, it does work on one of your Windows 10 computers.
--- We can't see your computers and trying to determine why something works on one computer vs. another one sight unseen can be challenging.
--- In fact it might be a good idea for us to know the make/model of each one of the computers so we can compare specs: along with what was the prior OS on each PC.

Let's nominate the troubling computer as PC#2.
Win10 OS. At this time, the RiffWorks program locks up, won't run and you cannot close it without using task manager.
--- The RiffWorks program was working OK on this computer when it was installed.
--- However due to problems on this computer, the OS was reloaded and now the above issues are present.
--- It seems to me it's better to address what the problems are without the RiffWorks program installed.

But now "Both PCs are loaded with the same OS from the same disc.", I'm not aware of how 2 different computers can run the same install from the same disc.
--- Others certainly can chime in on this but I believe this needs to be clarified before moving on.

    Solved

I have managed to get it working OK. The program can work on Windows 10 by changing the compatibility check box. I think the password was corrupted too, there's no other explanation. Thanks for your help.
