    Linspire 7.0 FREE for download December 24th and 25th


    As a majority of our forums Linux geeks are also Insiders, I thought it best to post this here:

    In celebration of the Christmas holiday PC/OpenSystems LLC and the PC/OS FOSS Development team is making Linspire 7.0 FREE for download December 24th and 25th. The link will expire at 7:00 am on December 26th. This is our way of wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas as well as offering a sneak peek at our upcoming product line

    Linspire 7.0 contains the following features and applications:


    • Kernel 4.10.0.42
    • Web Browser
    • Thunderbird e-mail and calendaring suite
    • LibreOffice
    • Wine 2.0.3
    • VirtualBox
    • VLC Media Player
    • Proprietary multimedia codecs - FULLY LICENSED
    • XFS, ZFS, JFS and BTRFS support



    Even though we are offering Linspire 7.0 as a free download users will continue to get free updates to 7.0 codebase through the lifecycle of the product.

    Did you look at Distrowatch ? They usually provide a torrent link which is mostly faster for download.

    This is usually a "pay for" propriety distro Mike, I doubt they would have a torrent.

    Yep they have linspire, but not version 7.

    Well they are a small company from North Carolina that sells a Linux distro, I guess we can't expect they have the money for a decent internet connection, like Canonical(Ubuntu) and Red Hat , where 90+% of the worlds super computers, and 80% the servers, run on their distro
