The reason Fat32 is used for EFI partition is because it is compatible with Windows, Linux, Mac etc and NTFS isn't.

I don't agree that creating two partitions on the USB drive, one FAT32 and one NTFS, then move part of the mounted iso to the FAT32 and part to the NTFS partition is easier than split install.wim...

You can create a USB Win 10 installation drive using a Win 10 installation iso. Mont the iso, extract the files to a folder, add the ei.cfg file and copy all files an folders to the USB drive created...

The partition letters are assigned by the OS it is booting.
If you boot Win 7, the Win 7 partition will be C:.
If you boot Win 10, the Win 10 partition will be C:.

If it shows up on BIOS it should show up on Disk Manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc) even if it doesn't show on Explorer due to a different format.

If SATA port on BIOS is enabled and the drive is recognized on BIOS, it should show up on Disk Manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc).

Lets do the basic

It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes...

The processor has little effect on boot and shutdown times. A SSD is almost 6 times faster than a HDD. That explain why a computer that was taking 2.5 min to boot with a HDD takes 20 s with a SSD

I would never use a fast M.2 NVMe drive as a data drive.
I would buy a small M.2 NVMe for windows and programs and two large HDD (2T and up), one for data and one for data backup.
