No reason to blow, laptop will use just as much a it needs to. You could connect it to nuclear power plant and it will draw same power as long as voltage and polarity are right.

And now for a little tuneup, 4.7GHz all cores, 1.3v and 78c. It's dynamic so idles (1%) withal but one core sleeping and one at less than 1GHz @ 0.98v, 32c. .
