    I checked the drive with a HD scanner and...

    I checked the drive with a HD scanner and everything came back OK, so I presume the drive isn't on its death bed. I think it would be best to replace it now rather than later.

    OP was giveen this suggestion, but it appeared that two posters had different ideas on what I should do and asked for Disk Management. I will try the suggestion about BIOS today to see what happens.
