If you are willing to reinstall, the recent versions of Windows 10 format the drive with the correct partition size.
The old install has a 530MB Recovery Partition and the new install has 546MB.
It pops up, but goes through fine.
A clean install of the latest Windows 10 does not have the issue.
Perhaps because it works for recent Windows 10 installs.
What I don't quite understand is a recent Windows 10 (22H2) with a 546MB Recovery Partition seems fine with KB5034441 while an earlier version (still 22H2) with 530MB Recovery Partition seems in...
That's an issue with Disk Manager
Speccy will show it is not empty.
Ditto.
I just installed Windows 10 22H2 from 13th Jan 24 (which is larger than that from 3rd Aug 23) and the partition size is now 546MB (was 530MB before) and KB5034441 installs without issue.
It should not be empty.
Disk Management shows the Recovery Partition to be 100% free, but utilities like Speccy show that it is actually occupied, that the 530MB partition has 83% usage. MiniTool Partition Wizard actually...
My Windows 11 machine recovery partition is at 757MB, so I reckoned 786MB should be enough.
Used MiniTool Partition Wizard to shrink the main partition by the 250MB suggested by Microsoft, then extended the recovery partition; KB5034441 Security Update then went through (after a reboot).

* Windows 11 machine has 757 MB
so that might explain why Microsoft is suggesting an extra 250 MB
Maybe so, but my Core 2 Quad machine is running so well, it would be a pity not to keep using it.

For those units not yet covered, I believe the main patches are already in Merlin.
Good to know we will still have Windows 10 for 2 1/2 years; my Core 2 still does sterling service.
I still get network time-out issues which is solved by putting the Tracking prevention on Strict
A very wise decision in my opinion, and I am waiting to get out of getting preview builds even though I would seem to be the only one who had network issues (now solved by this update).
Are you an Insider? otherwise use the links in the first post.
The rest of the machines in the house saw no such trouble, but it does seem to be just me.
Am I the only one who has had so much trouble with losing the network for minutes at a time that this patch has finally fixed?
Does anyone know if the memory leak in the News and Interests app has been fixed? It was eating up my whole 16 GB
