It turns out that another program was starting Skype. The jv16 Macecraft has a startup folder as well. When I cancelled this one, it took care of the problem. Thanks for all the suggestions

I got a good suggestion from Skype community and it solved the problem. I had the jv16 Macecraft tools installed and apparently, that program has its own set of startups and Skype was one of them. So...

I used the first site and got an iso image that fit on my DVD-R disk. Thank you!!

I downloaded the MCT (Media Creation Tool) as instructed on their website, Then you run that program to create the windows.iso. It all seems so simple. I can't believe this is happening!

I see your capacity is the same as mine, 4.38, but my iso file is 4.42. Yours seems to be 4.16, so I am a bit confused. And I only downloaded the 64 bit version

The iso file is 4.42 GB and my DVD-R is only 4.38, so Roxio doesn't write the file to disk. I don't understand how I can get the iso to disk.

Actually, I DO get it!!! You keep telling me how to stop Skype once it has started. I want to prevent Skype from even starting. I have tried everyone's suggestions and so far, no luck.

I assume you mean the Services tab of Task Manager. There is a SkypeUpdate which is stopped and there is no way to set manual
