Another clue: Sometimes when a USB port freezes, my Bluetooth headphones (my desktop has Bluetooth) stop working at exactly the same time, and I have to restart the computer (or log out and log in)...
I forgot to mention that I already did that. Is it still possible that some drivers still get automatically updated?
Hello,
In a previous thread, I described a problem I had where my USB mouse and keyboard would freeze frequently. I could not unfreeze a USB port, but mouse and keyboard would work if I changed...
UPDATE: I've rolled back to Windows 10 1607, and the loud popping or scratching noise (when seeking an audio file) has stopped. I'll stay on 1607 unless I can find a fix for this problem.
After upgrading to Windows 10 1703 (from 1607), I have noticed an audio problem with my Bluetooth earbuds (BlueAnt Pump). When I use my transcription software (where you open an audio file and use...
A display driver issue is my best guess too. I just totally uninstalled all my Nvidia drivers and software (which I think Windows downloaded when I upgraded to 1703), and just reinstalled the...
I am using Windows 10 1703. For whatever reason, the mouse cursor will disappear inside a window/program (I haven't found a pattern for which windows). The cursor is visible when I take it out of...
zbook, okay, thanks for the great help. I upgraded to 1703, but that did not solve the invisible cursor issue. I just reinstalled the mouse driver and I will see if that fixed the issue. If not,...
Since your Nvidia drivers fix, there have been no mouse or keyboard problems. And no other USB problems as far as I can tell.
The only problem now seems to be the cursor disappearing (but only...
Okay. My Windows version is Windows 10 (64-bit) 1607 14393.1358.
Here is the full command prompt output: Command prompt output - Pastebin.com
I have attached an updated ZIP file.
BTW, I am still having the problem of the cursor becoming invisible inside some windows. Could there be a hotkey that I'm accidentally pressing?
Okay, I've run the chkdsk /x /r command and here are the results: Chkdsk results - Pastebin.com
Yeah, I don't understand why that made it work...
BTW, I may upgrade to Creator's Update again, because now I think maybe that wasn't the reason for my computer issues. Any thoughts?
zbook, doing that clean uninstall and reinstall fixed the keyboard and mouse issue, at least so far! I'll post here if I find any problems. And I already ran chkdsk previously in the thread. Would...
BSODHunter, okay, I just tried connecting the keyboard and mouse to another computer and they both work! So the problem is obviously with my computer hardware or software.
zbook, my computer is a...
I put Lubuntu on USB and the computer recognized it and booted into Lubuntu! The mouse didn't work in Lubuntu (wasn't sure about the keyboard). And when I boot into Windows 10, my USB drive *works*...
No BSOD after those commands. I tried previously to install the correct USB drivers (and I tried again just now), but it didn't work. And I just tried safe mode, but still no USB ports are working.
Okay, I've run those commands.
I got all the way to chkdsk, and then I had to restart. Here is the command prompt output up to this point: BSOD commands 1 - Pastebin.com
Chkdsk ran on startup,...
Hello again,
I am resurrecting this old thread because I am the original poster and I am again having Windows 10 crashing problems.
Removing the incompatible RAM did indeed solve the frequent...
This has solved the problem. Thanks for your help!
Also, can I put my 8GB RAM stick back in the computer? What order should the three sticks be in (2x4GB & 1x8GB) to prevent crashing?
I removed the 8GB RAM stick and it seemed to stop the BSOD-ing so far. What do you mean by different memory modules? You can safely have different sizes of RAM in a computer, can't you?
Okay, just got another MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD.
Before I ran MemTest86+ I took one of the RAM sticks and moved it into a different slot.
Then I ran MemTest86+ for 8 passes (about 22 hours!) and there were NO errors. Sorry, I didn't take a...
