Removing Cortana this way - by simply deleting her file - isn't a good idea. Windows still thinks she's there, and i believe it's throwing errors behind the scenes as it tries continually to reopen...

Does any other Metro app work, or is Edge the only non-functional app?

Did you turn off User Account control?

Have you tried running an sfc/scannow?
