The latest boot of the system this morning...the Action Center is back, though a previous reboot hadn't done it.
Any chance that the Notification/Action Center not popping up at all could be a side effect of this update?
14393.51 works for me. Seems faster, but on this machine it's probably just Confirmation Bias on my part.
Just noticed this in a folder that is NOT set to "Details". Most of my folders show up that way, so I didn't see this before.
I have no idea what Qttabbar (?) is, so that's not involved here.
The link opened a blank page for me on Chrome. I got the ISO by going to the same page with Edge.
I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I had to do much less tweaking than I expected, and pretty much everything I had configured already works just as it did before.
And I will either do MCT...
This is pretty similar to what happened to me...the repeating Defender definitions update would have stopped without the Internet connection.
I'm out on this one. That last line in the last reply says it all.
Downloading it in the first year doesn't count. You need to complete the installation (have it running) from the download. If you just downloaded it, it's not activated.
If you are installing it...
Had the same problem last night.
In my case, there was a constant "retry" of a Defender definitions update that was apparently getting in the way.
I ended up downloading the ISO straight from...
Success:
93889
It didn't clobber my default programs...kept Chrome, Windows Media Player, VLC, etc. Everything is where it was.
It threw up a notification that I had to fix Microsoft apps on...
I know it was a big deal back in November.
But I also remember folks being able to reinstall and use it even after the update removed it.
Install is 54% complete. I think this is gonna work...
Haven't Windows 10 updates actually been removing Speccy? I think that started with the November update.
If anyone cares, the ISO did download fine overnight and I am in the process of upgrading...
Sorry for cluttering up the thread late last night.
I just can't sleep.
Finally managed to get to the ISO download page, though I had to use Edge to do it (!). I have a super slow connection, so this will take the rest of the night, but at least...
The Defender definitions update cleared, and now I have this in WU:
93815
But, that happened before and those definitions started rolling after I checked again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Clearly...
Same with this page:
Windows 10 ISO
Blank.
Decided to get the MCT instead, but...
Windows 10
brings up a fully blank page.
I don't know what to do now...except give up and go to bed.
Grr.
Just got back to the laptop and got this:
93809
Probably because of this in WU:
93808
But I have no idea how to unstick this (still stuck at this screen 10 minutes later).
93774
No update offered when I got home (the computer has been off all day) except one Defender update.
Decided not to wait, so I went to the Windows 10 site and started downloading from there. I don't...
Nevermind. She said it was a hardware failure (hard drive) on her computer, and she is setting up a new one.
My sister is developing problems with Windows 10 and her wireless mouse/keyboard combo (Logitech Wave MK550).
It has been working fine until today. Let her describe it.
Here's Logitech's...
I'm in, and 10586.122 it is.
Like one earlier update, it actually locked up my PC (the hard drive light was on) before I realized it was an update. Rebooted, let it run and all is well so far.
