    Correct, but as the thread title suggests, it is for folk who don't need security & wish to remove the lock-screen and sign-in page in order to access the desk-top immediately.

    If you do step 3 (run netplwix, etc) then it works with start-up as well. Also works with the new Windows 10 Creators update.

    Guru I agree but there doesn't seem to be any...

    Guru I agree but there doesn't seem to be any other way to get the "Require sign-in" option to appear in order to then set it to "Never" so that no password is required. Dumb windows programming!

    If no password is set the "Require sign-in" option is missing.
    Using the solution described above, windows goes directly to the desk top at startup.
