A new Windows Update was downloaded today (May 9, 2017). Sadly, still no fix for this problem. I wish we could remove the update that messed everything up last year. Would anyone know how to do this?

We are making progress: now when copying short cuts, the customized icons are maintained. But still not with folders.

My computer is updated and I can assure everyone that as of May 5 2017, the problem is not fixed. If any one has a solution that may not be obvious, thank you in advance for posting it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but it does not work on my computer unfortunately. When I unzip the folder it loses its icon.
