Are you using UEFI system ? It's faster than normal bios and usually skips bootable devices unless you press f12 or something and select the device to boot from when you see the initial boot up...
Or you can try other devices with the same cable to see if the cable is faulty or your phone but before that did you turn on usb tranfer through your phone ? Usually it's a sign the cable is working...
