I clicked on "Go to the previous build" option in the Advanced Repair Options. and hence I could able to go to the desktop in the normal mode...

I have tried "System Restore". Yet another failed attempt.

and one more query...

In the advanced startup options... if i click on "System Restore" option, will it work?
