Thanks for the suggestion, will do!
I gave up and re-installed windows. It wasn't too big of a hassle, only took an hour or so to get all the settings back to where I had them. Which in retrospect is no time at all. The good news is...
Some additional information, possibly unrelated:
I tried a sfc /scannow, and it did find some corrupt system files it was unable to fix. I found a supposed solution called DISM, but apparently it...
There's one laptop running windows 7 32-bit. It can connect to the internet via its onboard wifi, and via ethernet (in this way, I've tested both ethernet cables and ports on the router). The desktop...
Thanks for the reply. I have tried forgetting and reconnecting, to no effect.
Yes. Besides the entry I made for a reserved IP, the router should be in its factory default state.
I'm back to trying to use DHCP. I found a couple more relevant forum posts. One suggested checking my local hosts file. For some reason I had a bunch of entries for 127.0.0.1 pointing to various...
Update:

Some additional information:
My router does see my PC even though the PC seems not to see the router (i.e., the router is not accessible through the browser). Accessing the router through my...
On my laptop, that site says my IPv4 is fine but that IPv6 is not supported, which is strange because I actually ran that test earlier today and I could have sworn it gave me green across the board....
I've fiddled with this for a few more hours with no luck. I bought a new ethernet adapter card to try out; the results were no different than with my wifi card or motherboard ethernet adapter.
Is...
Hello,
I'm about 4 hours deep into trying to fix this. I've followed several forum posts with similar issues, with no luck.
I've been running windows 10 on my PC with my current hardware...
