Did I say that my problems are over? Silly me.
3-4 times today (while accessing games on Facebook and/or during a Stream update) the computer just went black, forcing me to power off and back on....
Just an update, for anyone else with similar issues trolling the boards/the Net:
Using the Windows 10 repair feature that you come to after encountering an error/problem booting up, I tried...
The good news: I was able to complete the full scan using the utility you pointed me to.
The bad news: The Short DST failed and the long test failed.
Once I returned the BIOS to booting from...
So just to confirm, just chkdsk in a command prompt window? Or are any parameters desired/required?
(And I acknowledge that this could be a temporary stopgap while I think about getting a new...
I haven't had a chance yet to do this extra stuff, BUT HD Tune Pro did complete a scan without another BSOD. Screenshot is attached.
More errors - more files.
Thanks, but I figured it out. :)
I did run the scan, but it took so long that I had to leave the computer on overnight. While I was there and it was scanning, however, I did notice just one little...
Was this what you wanted? (I'm not familiar with the program and just gownloaded/installed it, hit start, and cut/paste the result here.)

Increasingly I think that I may just have to bite the bullet and...
And another one :(
Thank you very much for your reply and your efforts. No apologies are necessary, as to my knowledge I'm not paying you for this :)
I thought that I might be out of the woods, as I had no BSODs...
The only thing that was different was that the restart button was checked - I have now unchecked it.
Yet another crash - yet another file.... (This time the blue screen said that it was a KMODE...
Where might I find that?
And another...
Mine is set at 1856 MB. I presume that is ok. I have tried again.
Attached is the file generated following the most recent crash.
I suspected either Play TV and/or Raptr of creating a problem. As I don't need either, I have uninstalled both.
Can you please indicate what kind of dump files are required? Right now, my computer would appear to be set up to create the kernel ones, so I don't know why it would not have done so. (Each time it...
Since upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7, I have experienced BSOD (or in Windows 10's case, sad face) errors with increasing frequency, to the point that I am considering reverting back to...
