Hi,
as you might have noticed, windows 10 has 2 different looks for the context menu, the usual one you see rightclicking on files and most applications, and a new terribly horrifying and...
Thanks, but i already know how to replace imageres resources, i was just wondering if there's a way to override imageres through registry keys the way i did for the default folder icon.
at best you can statically replace it with a custom one editing the .dll where it's from, but you definitely cannot have it dynamically change when some event occur.
Greetings,
Through editing the registry i replaced the default icon for general folders, it applies with empty folders and non-big-icon views (as suggested in some old guide):

I suggest you Classic Shell. (http://classicshell.net/) It's a lot customizable. You can set themes, make it look like WinME, Win7 or Win10. For example you could use Win7-like start menu with...
Just one note: the only fact that you don't like it doesn't necessairly imply that it's "stupid". It's an "on focus" reminder. Not much stupid. Just say "that blue outline i don't like" instead ;)...
Try testing the usb in another computer with different systems like Windows XP/7/8.1. Check if it doesn't work in all the system or if it's a strictly Windows 10 problem. (you can check it also...
When you set a custom folder, basically what you do is giving to the folder a path which redirects Explorer.exe to search for an icon on that path. It may not work, for example, if the file you set...
Hello, i'm new here.
I was trying various ways of customizing default icons. I ended uop modifying both shell32.dll and imageres.dll. Anyway i was planning to make a .bat installer, and i had the...
