Addendum: If I launch Explorer from "This PC" I see the "Working on it" text. If I launch via the task bar shortcut, it freezes quietly, and loads Explorer after 10-15 seconds. Accessing files...
Some time yesterday my PC began acting strangely. Every time I open Explorer, I see "Working on it..." and have to wait several seconds before I can do anything. In addition, any changes to the file...
Thanks, fdegrove
I assume you meant to include a link to another thread, as there are no instructions for fixing DCOM errors in this one.
Quick follow-up. After reinstalling the Windows Store (thank you, Retoocs!) I was able to download Gears of War 4. It doesn't run yet, since Microsoft treated my dispute as a refund and removed...
Thank you for that tip! Please note that Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* doesn't actually install anything. AFAIK, it doesn't even do anything as there was no acknowledgement to that command. I was...
I tried some of the offending apps on my other Windows 10 PC and had no problems. I can't check Gears of War 4, since it's an 80 Gb download, and that machine is too old to run it. For what it's...
Useless, I fear. As I said, I already ran SFC, and there is no registry entry called OLE. Whomever wrote that article is either making things up, or using a non-English version of Windows 10. Nor did...
Also tried DISM, but as you can see below, there were no problems.

I'm receiving the following error when trying to install apps from the Windows Store on Windows 10. It doesn't occur with every program, which makes it extremely frustrating to debug. The Event...
So what do I do when none of this helps? All 3 PC's on my network lost homegroup functionality after last week's Windows 10 update. I cannot leave the homegroup, as there is no such option. Nor can...
How is this marked as solved when there is (1) no solution posted, and (2) the bug still exists? Microsoft screwed up the last update. All 3 of my PC's lost their homegroup settings, and cannot...
Aye, sorry about that. I meant to say enable them. It doesn't seem to matter either way. On my PC, after I did that, the setting switched back to "undefined" but my Show App Notifications button was...
Since upgrading to Windows 10, my error log is flooded with this message. Over 520 incidents in the past week. The instructions provided for that error in Windows 8 do not work with 10, since it is...
Sorry, that would have helped. *blush*
Press Win + R shortcut keys together on the keyboard to open the Run dialog.
Type the following in the Run box: gpedit.msc
Go to the following path...
Solved it myself by editing group policies. Though why the default behavior is to disable all notices, and lock the selection is beyond me.
My apologies. I left out a few key words. When Windows 8 first launched, Windows 7 and Windows 8 homegroups could not talk to each other. That was fixed later, so hopefully we'll have a solution in...
Since upgrading to Windows 10 last night, app notifications are disabled and the checkbox is greyed out. The top of the screen says, "Some settings are managed by your organization." There is no...
This article may solve your problem, Jason: Homegroup Not Working - Windows 7 Help Forums
The homegroup is still here. However, it cannot talk to PC's running Windows 7 or 8. Very annoying.
EDIT: After one of Windows 10's silent updates, my Homegroup started working on its own. Nice to...
I don't think you can do anything about this. Windows 8 could not talk to Windows 7 home groups either. AFAIK, you're out of luck until every PC on your network is running Windows 10.
