Great news. Happy you could sort out the problem.

Try installing an older gpu driver. I have found some of the latest drivers not to be very stable at times ie beta drivers.

I know it's a bit of a mission, but download the ISO of AU and do a clean install. I did and have had no issues at all.
Upgrading always leaves room for issues and problems.

Install Driver Talent and update the driver through that. The driver might need a repair. Driver Talent will download and repair the driver if it needs to. Also Driver Talent will get a stable driver...

Try setting your GPU settings to default in the GPU control panel. See if that helps. You can also try update your graphics drivers to see if that helps.
