You can always do an image backup before you install any major update.. in case something goes sour.. you can always get your PC back to how it was in less than 15 mins.
It's running great on all the PCs I have installed it... I had actually issues before updating it.
When you say in-place Windows 10 installation.. do you mean just installing Windows 10 on top as if you were upgrading?
If so, then that's what I ended doing as well.. no issues and I am now able to...
I've been trying to install this update KB4598242 for a few days now without luck. It downloads, then the computer restarts and when it gets to 8% installed, it reboots again then says removing...

So it's supposed to not be activated? - - Not that it really matters in the end, but don't remember ever seen Sandboxes or VMs with unactivated Operating Systems.

So nobody knows why Windows 10 is allowing for a regular user account to have access to the registry?
I mean, this was not the case in previous Windows OS..access to the registry has always been...
what I mean by regular users are ALL users that are NOT administrator accounts.
If you create a new user on your PC (non admin), you will see that you can type "regedit" in the search bar and you...
Not at all..what I am saying is that regular user accounts that do NOT have admin rights have access and are able to edit regedit.exe.
What I am trying to do is force regular users to be prompted...
This is the way I have the settings right now.. they look to me as if it should be asking for admin credentials when a regular user tries to open regedit.. am I right, or do I need to change anything...
How would do this? and why isn't this done by default?.. regular users should NEVER be allowed to have access to regedit.
The big question is why is Windows 10 allowing regular users to have access to regedit?
I have tried on other Win 10 PCs and it's the same way.. what is Microsoft thinking?
right.. as I mentioned on my previous post. Doing that actually disables access to regedit to everyone including admin accounts. I do not want to do that. I would like for it to prompt me for the...
Actually, I just created another user account and by default, it grants access to regedit. This is not good at all. I've tried it on another Windows 10 PC and it's the same, regular user accounts...
All the way up.
Thanks..I've seen that, but that deactivates regedit for everyone..I dont want to deactivate it..I just want it to prompt users to enter the admin password...that way If I am logged in as regular...
