In that case definitely try it out. It might be able to help you. You can always restore the default behavior by deleting these Chrome or Edge keys in your policy folders of the registry.

Here's a trick, create a folder named "Pics" on your desktop then run this command in PowerShell. It will copy all the pictures over, add the .jpg extension for you all at once:
