There's no need to upgrade. You can run Windows 10 as long as you wish.
We even have a Windows 7 desktop here. It, too, runs fine.
If I ever get a computer that says Let's Finishing Setting Up Your Microsoft account ... I'll just load Linux and say goodbye to Windows.
I will NEVER have a Microsoft account.
There's nothing special about 2025. Or 2026.
I run Windows 10, version 1809. I don't need anything newer. Not Windows 11. Nor the eventual Windows 12.
I'll run the same old Win 10 until this...
I still use K-Lite. I used it with XP, 7, and now 10. The troubles were solved long ago.
I tried VLC, but I didn't like the UI.
That saved the day for me many times.
I don't upgrade my computer. When it breaks and becomes unrepairable I'll replace it.
Neither do I upgrade the OS. I run Windows 10, 1809. Despite all the nervous nellies who say that I'm no...
There is no folder called C:\Users\Username
You need to replace Username with your login name. So if you login as Joe, then look for C:\Users\Joe
Whenever I see a problem given as: "blah blah blah One Drive blah blah blah" ... the problem is obvious.
It's right there: One Drive.
The solution is simple: get rid of One Drive.
Really. One...
These icons are in the "tray". They can appear only on your primary monitor, not on any other monitor.
I bought the Tripp Lite IBAR4-6D.
It's rated for 3330 joules.
It has four outlets, but they make versions with six or eight outlets.
I paid $57 at Newegg two years ago. It's now listed at $68
Armstrong cable came out in June, dug up the neighborhood, and installed fiber.
Then Comcast came out in November ... and did the same thing.
It's odd that they duplicated their work.
Because...
Who do you work for?
What is the company policy regarding remote access?
What means do they offer for remote access?
I ask these things because you likely should not need to figure this out....
I think it's time for a new computer.
If you got 14 years from it you can count yourself lucky.
You got more than your money's worth.
On a laptop I think the only worthwhile upgrade is to replace the laptop.
Piece-by-piece upgrades aren't worth the price, nor the effort.
Just get a new laptop.
The various pieces of advice given here seem to be good ... but they diverge. The OP needs **one** path to success.
I'm leaning toward dalchina's suggestion: a fresh Windows install. But I don't...
Here's a font comparison.

One Drive to rule them all, One Drive to find them,
One Drive to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them;
In the Land of Redmond where the shadows lie.

I tried to rename it, thinking that the dot at the end was the problem. It would not let me.
So I restarted. Still could not delete, but I could rename the folder. Then I could delete it. All done.
I have a folder called "Bluthner.1.0." ... and yes, there's a dot at the end of the folder name.
I need to deleted it ... but when I try to delete it in Windows Explorer ... a popup says:
...
I've been using Windows Media Player Classic, part of the K-Lite Codec Pack.
It plays everything. And its UI is simple and uncluttered.
Edge is not "IE with new makeup".
The difference is that IE worked. Sure, it was outdated. But it worked.
But Edge? It will not even run on any of our computers.
We click to open it ... and...
An unschooled philosopher bases his understanding in cliche.
One Drive is an abomination. All it ever did for me was lose files! :(
I use Google Drive. No problems.
Insiders tell me that Windows as a whole has become a lower priority for Microsoft.
The cloud is everything. Azure is where the money is ... and it's growing.
