I tried all the clean boot, retry many times ( I probably downloaded 15GB of update over and over again trying to make this work), update from ISO, everything advised everywhere....

So I have found no resolution to this problem. Interestingly enough I can share copies of the folders on my Win 10 PC and access it from the other computer, but not the other way around.

I tried another Win10 computer connecting to the same shared folders and had the same problem saying my specified password is not correct. This one also used to work, and hasn't had any Win10...
No it did not make any difference. I closed and re-opened regedit and the Dword is still there and the correct value. Haven't re-booted yet. Takes too long to do right now.
