I tweaked my BIOS settings, set the display output to IGFX, then somehow selected my account and typed in my password. The desktop appeared.

Update: I typed my password, and apparently my arrow key mashing selected the correct account and I booted into windows 10 desktop.
Only trouble now is that the settings window doesn't show up so...
Left it on the black screen+cursor for 6 hours, no change.
I'm starting to suspect it may be a video issue but that's just a late night guess. Will leave it on while I call it a day.
Yes I can restart (pressing the power button), but every time it reboots it just gets to the black screen+cursor after getting past the OEM loading page.

Rebooted my PC, and after going past the usual loading page I get the same black screen.
So i rebooted my pc and after going past the Alienware (i5) loading screen it displayed the same black screen again. Starting to think its a video issue, but I have no idea
